The support teams were busy working throughout the summer to provide administrative support to our families and to ensure that the school is ready for the new academic year. As well as the normal repairs, updates and cleaning, we have invested in the creation of two new spaces for our children.
Gym:
Look at our fantastic new Gym! The Gym and changing areas were completely renovated and are already being enjoyed by our students. The space will be used for our PE lessons, sports teams and for other fun school activities. We are very lucky to have such large indoor and outdoor sports facilities in the heart of a busy city.
New Science Lab:
To support our students even further with their studies we have created a new large and well-equipped Science Lab.
The Lab will give students the opportunity to study science in a dedicated space and inspire them to discover and enhance their passion for the subject and compliments our partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) which focuses on the all-important STEAM subjects.
Year 4 recently embarked on a thought-provoking unit of work, stepping into the shoes of Rainforest Detectives to solve a serious environmental mystery, in the hope of changing the future of the rainforest.
Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do, and it extends far beyond literacy. It is transdisciplinary, meaning children naturally integrate their knowledge of phonics into storytelling, create maths stories, and weave in elements of science, curiosity, and their understanding of the world.
