This week, Nursery children have been engaging in our STEAM project – building a house for the three little pigs. Everyone made an effort into this!
Some children tested different materials to find which material they could use to make the strongest house.
Some children helped to decorate the house wall with beautiful paper mâché.
Some groups helped out with the house frame whilst some other groups looked after the rooftop.
We talked about the shapes the house could have and constructed the pipes together to create the shapes needed for the frames.
Then children were invited to paint the roof. They painted rainbows, flowers, butterflies, cars, transformers, and love hearts, all were their favourites. If the sunlight shone through the roof, we could see the shadows of their lovely pictures.

Year 4 recently embarked on a thought-provoking unit of work, stepping into the shoes of Rainforest Detectives to solve a serious environmental mystery, in the hope of changing the future of the rainforest.
Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do, and it extends far beyond literacy. It is transdisciplinary, meaning children naturally integrate their knowledge of phonics into storytelling, create maths stories, and weave in elements of science, curiosity, and their understanding of the world.
