Join Our Open Morning
This week, Nursery children have been exploring colours via different activities.
They were engaged with colour mixing and creating new colours. They were so happy to share with their teachers - ‘I make jungle colour,’ ‘this is brown, for brown bear,’ ‘I added black in. It is darker.’ It has been great to see children fully experimenting with a range of colours and making links to the things they have known.
Across all five classes, we have also incorporated colours into physical activities. Using colour as a sign, the children changed from tiptoeing, and hopping, to sliding, crawling, and slithering – the children had so much fun and really loved it! Every day, with their friends or in their class, they went on this little adventure.
Some children fell interested in the colour pattern game, noticing the pattern and continuing the pattern. They also enjoyed looking through coloured shapes. They initiated different ways to test their ideas out - using the magnifier, stacking the shapes together, and putting the shapes in water. We had a ‘Colourful’ week!
