The children on the German programme are excited and happy about having more German lessons each week this year.
Having heard about the German programme from their older siblings and friends in school, the Year 1s are especially excited as they are able to finally start to have their German lessons every week! We love stories from the Buchstabenkoffer and we have a lot of fun inventing a story together. The children also enjoy working in their letter books and learning all about German phonics. It has been wonderful to see their progress and I am so proud of the children!
The Year 5 children have been learning all about informative texts. They have demonstrated wonderful collaborative skills when working in groups on different informative texts and then choosing in which way they wish to present them. The classroom has seen many wonderful and creative projects!
Our Year 4 students have had lots of fun learning all about the children of this world. This is one of the favourite topics in class during Year 4. This topic gives us lots of diverse ways of learning. We can be creative and write stories, develop our Be Curious skills as we learn about different cultures and backgrounds, and learn about greetings in different languages. We also learned that we are all the same, even if we look different, which fits wonderfully into our school ethos of ‘Be Kind’.
