We have been looking at the beautiful city of Istanbul in Turkey this week with Year 5 and learnt about how it’s the only city in the world that is built on two continents and why it is very popular among tourists.
The students learnt our new vocabulary for the week and practised their oral English by discussing what tourists should and shouldn’t do when visiting another country. Some of our students talked about Japan and gave us some great advice on places to visit and things to eat as well as describing what a kimono is and why and when Japanese people wear it.
In Year 3 we have been learning about regular and irregular past tense verbs and have had lots of fun rewriting a song about Johnathan’s terrible week. The students then practised using past tense verbs to write a story about Choc, the chocolate monster and shared their stories with the class.
