Our Reception children have had such a wonderful time learning about ‘Space’. This week we learnt about space travel and astronauts. The children have loved playing in our spaceships, pretending to be flying to the Moon, and it has been so great to see them expand and use new vocabulary.
The children get to practise their gross and fine motor skills through a variety of activities during the day. During continuous provision the children made space rockets with scissors and glue, coloured and ordered the planets in the Solar System and wrote nonsense words with the phonetic sounds that we have learnt.
We have also enjoyed doing different finger rhymes, learning to count back from 10 and using our beautiful singing voices in Performing Arts.
