Join Our Open Morning
This week in Year 3 we have been exploring our new topic, Light, through photography.
We learned about the history of photography and how it has progressed from film to digital photography. The children were very surprised to see what old photographs looked like and had interesting discussions about how it has changed over time.
One of the biggest changes the children noticed was the change from black and white to colour photos. We all went outside with our iPads to take some beautiful black and white photos, bearing in mind what we learnt about impactful angles and the importance of light.
We used our own black and white portrait photos to further explore light through sketching. The children cut their photos in half and were challenged to use light and shadows to sketch the other half of their face. They certainly lived up to the challenge!
