The students were very excited to be back in school after a pleasant winter vacation.
Nursery children were learning about Chinese New Year. They enjoyed songs and stories about the Chinese zodiac. They tried to put the twelve animals in order according to the story.
Year 1 Lama Temple students learnt Pinyin finals ao, ou and iu. They have been working very hard to practise the syllables with the three compound finals. They had fun games ‘the bee and the flowers’ to reviewed what they have learnt.
Students in Year 3 Lama Temple were learning about the text ‘A letter to dad’. They have been practising the new Chinese characters through a variety of activities.
Year 4 Lama Temple students learnt about Chinese food. They loved this topic and talked about their favourite Chinese dishes. They also got to know the ways to cook Chinese food and tried to make their own menus with the given materials.

Here, at BSB Sanlitun, we were pleased to host two weeks of visits of two Juilliard specialists from New York, across 3 full working days. Our Primary students got to experience a variety of lessons and teaching styles as Nick Mahmat and Brian Drye stepped into our classrooms and led music and drama activities.
What a wonderful day we had hosting our annual Chinese New Year Temple Fair on campus on Sunday. This great community event included games, a Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, a face changing performance, traditional crafts, a bouncy castle, food vendors and gift stalls.Thanks to everyone who made the event possible and magical!
