Recently the PE Department at BSB Sanlitun organised a handball tournament for Key Stage 2 students. The children were divided into four teams according to our four school Houses (Saxons, Normans, Romans and Vikings), and the games took place in PE lessons. The final score was determined by adding up the scores of each team in each class. In these games, all the children gave their best, which reflects both the sense of collaboration and the positive competitive spirit of the school.
Handball is a team sport that developed in Europe which includes the competitive characteristics of football and basketball and draws on the rules of both those sports. It includes fun, competition and teamwork. Through training handball skills, children can fully train their own running and coordination, which is also the fundamental purpose of the school's physical education framework. In the end, the Green Saxons won the championship by a narrow margin: the result of the children's hard work. We plan to ensure that there will be more competitions like this in the future, inspiring more children at BSB Sanlitun to work together and play for their Houses.
Our PE Department believes that in this diverse campus, children from various countries and cultural backgrounds can unite through sport and strive for victory together. If music is the common language of the world, then sport is the connection that keeps the world happy. We hope that the children will remember this tournament and carry the spirit of teamwork and fairness on into their daily lives.
