Last week was our Dinosaur Activity Week in Year 1 and what an amazing week we had become Dino experts! Each class had a visit from Dr Tom who is a paleontologist here in Beijing, who taught the children all about different types of dinosaurs, what they eat and also got to touch a real dinosaur egg!
We had the opportunity to decorate some dinosaur shaped cookies and also make our own dinosaur designs on some mini doughnuts. It was so lovely to see the children get creative and to see their ideas come out into their work!
In the classroom we had been very busy too. The children got creative with making their own ‘Hand-a-saurus’, using paint and crayons and their own hands to create a dinosaur! We even made our own dinosaur feet which the children could use to learn their 'Dinosaur Stomp' dance! They dug for dinosaurs in a fossil, watched their own little dinosaurs hatch out of an egg and watched a video of the dinosaurs taking over part of our school! What a dino-tastic week!
