What a lovely week we had! Students in Year 4 went to a farm in Shunyi district as part of the activity week.
Students were able to apply knowledge that they had learned in Science when learning about the process of making a fire. Students got debated the most efficient ways to make a fire burn and most importantly, how to cook a sweet potato. Food for thought!
As part of the farm activity, students were able to meet everyday farm animals. This included learning about the process of milking a cow. The welfare of the animals was a priority for the farm and students came to understand more about why ethical farming is important.
In the digging activity, students were able to get hands on and dig their own Jerusalem Artichokes. Students learned about why healthy eating is not only good for our bodies but also good for the environment as eating lots of processed food can create even more pollution.
Overall, it was a fantastic day for the activity week. We are thankful for everyone who was involved for being able to create such a wonderful educational experience.
