This week our Pre-Nursery classes have been learning about animals! We had so much fun!
Children enjoyed the role-plays every day at the animals’ small world area, feeding them, taking them on a ride, making a home for them to live in, and playing hide-and-seek with the animals. We talked about farm animals and zoo animals in terms of their appearance, sound, movement, and the food made from some animals.
We set up a few play-based learning experiences for our children to further their understanding of the animals. For example, the children were invited to the animal sound listening game, the sensory animal hunting activity, and engaged in animal crafting activities - making lions, giraffes, chickens, sheep, etc. We sang some lovely songs ‘As quiet as a mouse’ and ‘Old MacDonald’, and danced to ‘Elephants have wrinkles’, ‘Monkey dance’ and ‘Chicken Dance’.
Children all have had an amazing time in this week’s topic of learning and exploration!
