We read ‘Sharing a shell’ by Julia Donaldson and we talked about how wonderful it is that we can share with our classmates. The children loved doing actions to the story and they learnt new words and spotted initial sounds. We are so proud to see how the children are using the sounds they have learnt in Phonics to hear and recognise sounds in words.
The Reception children have also been doing lots of counting in the classes. Counting sea creatures, shells and water beads. We worked on one-to-one correspondence and practiced listening to sounds and making actions to match to the right number.
