Join Our Open Morning
As the weather becomes warmer and we relieve ourselves from the weight of our jackets, so too do the children relieve themselves of the weight of yesterday and prepare themselves for tomorrow. It has been fantastic to see the resilience students have shown in the face of all the difficulties these last few weeks.
Throughout these last few weeks, Year 1 students have been practising vocabulary related to their everyday clothes and toys. In addition to the fantastic writing and reading they’ve completed, they’ve been practising to be more confident by speaking in front of an audience and leading the class in different activities as the teacher.
Not to be left behind, Year 3 students have been hard at work to create their own vocabulary mini book about Weather. Students have taken charge and decorated their books with pictures, and sentences and phrases at their own levels, remembering that everyone goes on their learning journeys at their own pace, not everyone else’s.
Year 5 have had a blast interviewing each other as they began a new topic about the Story Teller. They composed their own interview questions using the present perfect and interviewed their classmates about their past experiences with different topics such as visiting a castle, riding a horse or even lighting a firecracker.
It has been a fantastic month and we look forward to all the fantastic learning that will be taking place outside as the weather gets warmer and options open for more hands-on practicals!
