Spring is a season of opportunities. It brings us not only a boost of fresh air, warmer weather, but also a positive impact for learning. Check out the fantastic week here in BSB Chinese classrooms!
Amid much excitement, Nursery children have learnt the story Colour Monster. In addition to the lovely singing, our younger learners have also identified and labelled different emotions using flash cards. We have also talked about things that give us different feelings. Children have practised how to ‘read’ facial cues and interpret body language by engaging in a variety of games and working together with their friends.
Children in Year 2 have just finished off their Story Book project. They have been creating their own stories with so much enthusiasm and imagination. Do you want to know what kind of funny story could happen with a naughty kitten? Check out the story 《淘气的小猫》(táo qì de xiǎo māo – naghty kitten), written by Year 2 Forbidden City class!
Children in Year 6 have been demonstrating excellent Fluent Thinking skills this week. They have participated in a Treasure Hunt activity. They worked in teams and found so many Chinese characters hidden in our school. They even found out the meaning and practised the use of them on Seesaw. If you ever wonder what it says on the water dispenser sign, ask one of our amazing Chinese character experts in Year 6.
There is no doubt that we will continue to strive to plan those magical moments that inspire and motivate the children. I am looking forward to our next Chinese lessons in the coming weeks!
