Join Our Open Morning
What a wonderful week in Year 1. We have been learning all about polar bears and how to save their homes.
We began this topic by looking at climate change and how it is effecting the polar bears' homes. We then looked ways we could reduce the effects of global warming and the children came up with some really good ideas such as: taking the bus or walking to school, eating less food that is packaged and recycling.
During our English lessons, we focused on a beautiful story called ‘The lonely polar bear’. This story was full of beautiful polar bear pictures. We decided to recreate one of the pictures from the storybook and we named it ‘The Northern Lights’. We used our different chalk techniques and our superb drawing skills to make our amazing pictures! Well done Year 1.
