Year 1 were off to a flying start last week as we began our journey around the globe during international week.
The children participated in a variety of activities ranging from Japanese paintings to Scottish history, and became immersed in developing an understanding of different cultural heritage, and appreciating the experiences of a diverse school community. One highlight from the week was our International Parade! Everyone made a tremendous effort with their traditional clothes and had an amazing afternoon sharing different cultural stories with their friends.
In English we focused on the story “Around the world with Max and Lemon. This story took the children on an adventure around the globe to discover exciting facts of far and distant cultures.
These experiences provide students with an awareness of different communities and an opportunity to embrace the diverse and complex fabric of society that our BSB community represent.
