What a wonderful week we have had in the Tadpoles Class! We have been learning all about the change in seasons and focusing on the season of Autumn.
After reading the story of the week, “We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt” the children all enjoyed collecting as many autumn leaves as they can find. The children then brought them to school to share with their classmates. We made some beautiful leaf prints by painting the leaves in bright autumn colours such as orange, yellow and red. We then placed the leaves underneath white paper and made leaf prints! The children enjoyed feeling the texture of the leaves and seeing the different marks they made on the paper.
Another highlight of the week was celebrating Halloween. All the Tadpoles enjoyed exploring the Halloween themed sensory box, full of pumpkins, Jack o Lanterns, spiders and ghosts. We made bright orange play dough and made a scary face for our own Jack O Lantern play dough mats. We even took turns digging the seeds out of a big pumpkin.
What an exciting week we have had. We are looking forward to our Halloween dress up day on Friday!
