As part of the Year 3 Entry Point to their topic ‘Walk like an Egyptian’, the children dressed up to look like archaeologists and rose to the challenge to explore an ancient tomb…
The children thoroughly enjoyed venturing into an Ancient Egyptian tomb with torches to find interesting discoveries including hieroglyphics, images of Egyptian Gods, jewellery and it even looked like mummification had taken place!
In class, the children were enthusiastic to decode some hieroglyphics, write their names and create sentences with them for a partner to work out. The children were also able to get creative and make their own Egyptian style necklace but made sure to use accurate colours from their research on ipads.
A truly fantastic start to the Year 3 topic!
