This week in Pre-Nursery, we have been celebrating Maths Week.
Providing children with a range of mathematical activities will assist in their journey of becoming confident, capable and lifelong learners. The children engaged well and initiated their own learning through spontaneous play.
There were plenty of opportunities to develop their Maths skills. The whole week our learning was focused on the Nursery Rhyme “Hickory Dickory Dock”, learning the words and the actions that go with it. Also, we began to explore the concept of time by creating clocks, choosing our own colours as well as challenging ourselves in tracing and writing the clock numbers.
Other activities included completing number jigsaw puzzles, sorting out daily class routine using our visual timetable and having a go at naming them. In our role play corner, it was lovely to see all the children playing together counting spoons, plates and food to be served.
What an amazing week for our little Mathematicians!
