On Tuesday 29th and Thursday 31st January BSB Sanlitun U7 and U9 boys and girls gymnastic teams set off to Harrow to compete in their very first gymnastics competition.
This was a very exciting time for the children as it would be their first opportunity to take part in a inter-school gymnastics competition. On arrival children showed all kinds of emotions such as excitement, nervousness and adrenaline. Once parents were seated, the opening ceremony began. Each school taking part paraded in as a team and sat at their starting station. These were the floor routine, the body management routine and the vault.
All children performed individually at all 3 stations to win points for their whole team. These points were then totalled together at the end of the event and the winning team was chosen. All children competed well performing to a good standard, putting into play what they had been practicing over the past few weeks during PE lessons and lunch time practice with Miss Martin, Mr O’Leary and Mr Skeldon. Their hard work paid off as BSB Sanlitun was rewarded with success on both days, lifting the team trophy on both days, as well as earning some individual medals for exceptional performance.
