Following the British framework, Key Step Gymnastics, they have been exploring different body movements through bending, flexing and balancing in all shapes and forms. The students have the opportunity to work through a flowing sequence performing a variety of body movements and floor exercises during their PE lesson. Students get the chance to collaborate together working in pairs and small groups practicing and demonstrating their talents.
At the beginning of next year there will be a JISAC gymnastic competition held for children in Years 1-4 in Beijing. Students will have the opportunity to be selected for the team and get to go perform their practiced routines in front of a panel of judges who will score them based on their technique and flow of the routine. This is a very exciting event for students and gives them the chance to compete and challenge themselves outside of school. We are all looking forward to this!
