In English, Year 1 Panthers have really enjoyed reading the ‘Naughty Bus’ by Jan and Jerry Oke.
All the children have been able to describe how they think the characters of mummy, the bus and the truck behaved and felt during the story. They also imitated one of the authors’ techniques by creating their own calligrams.
Still that wasn’t enough for our curious little risk takers, as they were not content with merely reading a story. Neither were they content with merely understanding and imitating some of the authors’ techniques. They wanted to create their very own sequel! So one day the Panthers took the ‘Naughty Bus’ on a rampage around the school and documented his adventures with their i-pads. The following day all the children wrote about what the ‘Naughty Bus’ had seen, heard, smelt, felt and tasted on his rampage through BSB Sanlitun!
