This week in Year 3 we have been exploring magnets and their forces in Science.
The children were given a range of materials, both metals and non-metals, which they then had to predict whether they would be attracted to the magnet or not. The children then tested each material to see if their predicts were true.
This was an excellent activity for the children as it helped correct the misconception of ‘all metals are magnetic’, as the children soon discovered that aluminum is in fact not.
