We are thrilled to share highlights from our Year 2 STEAM Showcase, which took place in conjunction with Recycling Week, Poetry Day and our STEAM unit on journeys through Earth’s different habitats. This term’s theme inspired our students to create incredible works of art and poetry, as well as informative posters.
One of the main attractions was the art sculptures made by the children using recycled materials. These sculptures not only showcased their creativity but also highlighted the importance of recycling and reusing materials to protect our planet.
In their poetry, the children explored themes of recycling, taking care of the Earth, and climate change. Their haikus were not only beautifully crafted but also conveyed powerful messages about the need for environmental conservation.
The posters created by the students were equally impressive. They raised awareness about the effects of climate change and offered solutions to help combat this pressing issue. The students’ posters served as a call to action for everyone to do their part in protecting the environment.
During the showcase, parents had the opportunity to hear their children present their work. The children were eloquent, excited and incredibly knowledgeable about their topic. It was heartwarming to see how passionate they were about making a difference in the world.
In addition to their own presentations, parents also had the chance to listen to other children speak. This gave everyone a broader perspective on the issue of climate change and the different ways we can all contribute to a more sustainable future.
Overall, the Year 2 STEAM showcase was a resounding success, showcasing not only the creativity and talent of our students but also their deep understanding of and commitment to environmental conservation. We are incredibly proud of all their hard work and dedication to making the world a better place.
