Internationalism is one of our core pillars at BISS Puxi. To celebrate this, our school community came together to showcase the rich tapestry of cultures represented among our students and staff. From captivating performances to fantastic lessons, the International Week truly created an inclusive and celebratory atmosphere that fostered mutual understanding and respect.
This year, we focused on celebrating the diversity within our school community of students, teachers, and parents. One highlight of the week was the engaging presentations shared by our older students, teachers and even some parents. These presentations allowed the community members to proudly share their traditions, languages, and customs with peers. It was heartwarming to witness the genuine curiosity and enthusiasm displayed by everyone, as they actively participated in learning about different countries and unique heritages.
The many food fairs across the Primary School were an absolute feast for the senses and another highlight of the week, as they offered a wide array of mouthwatering dishes from around the world. It was a wonderful opportunity for our taste buds to embark on an international culinary adventure, leaving us with a greater appreciation for the diverse flavours and spices that make up global cuisine. It was also a great opportunity for students, parents and teachers and to socialise within their year groups. This created a wonderful sense of community, while simultaneously embracing the wider world around us.
The week ended with the combination of the international parade and the showcase of all the fantastic work that had been completed across the week. Seeing all the students being proud of their heritage, whilst also being excited to form part of the larger BISS Puxi community, reminded us that our annual International Week is an enriching opportunity for us all. It is a chance to understand different cultures, promote cross-cultural friendships, and to strengthen the fabric of our school community. It also serves as a reminder that our diversity is a treasure and, through celebrating it, we can embrace a brighter and more inclusive future.
The collaborative efforts of our enthusiastic students, dedicated teachers and supportive parents played a pivotal role in making International Week a resounding success. Their commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment was clear in every aspect of the week, creating a sense of belonging and unity amongst all of us.
