On Monday 17 January, we were able to invite our Year 12 Parents and their sons and daughters into school. They attended a workshop designed to help parents to understand what their sons and daughters will be doing in school in the coming months.
It is at this time in Year 12 that Internal Assessments begin, the Higher Education process starts and we add to the core commitments by launching The Extended Essay. We were able to offer guidance to parents on how they might best support their children at home with the increasing complexity that additional subjects and coursework brings.
It was lovely to welcome our parents onto the school site and to have an opportunity to catch up in an informal environment. We met in the IB Academy, and some parents commented that they were pleased to see the learning environment that their sons and daughters worked in during the day. We have a fantastic facility that inspires independence whilst providing opportunities for collaboration.
The partnership between school and home is incredibly important and we are keen to foster this relationship in order to offer the best possible support to our students. Our young people don’t always share their workload or pressures with parents and teachers, and so it is important for parents to know that they can contact school directly if they have any concerns at all. Our primary goal is to ensure that channels of communication are always open.
The BISS Ball, held at the W Hotel in Shanghai, was a dazzling affair, combining elegance with purpose. As guests entered the venue, they were greeted by the enchanting ambience that set the tone for a fantastic fundraising evening.
