After more than ten years...

After more than ten years of dedicated service to our school community, Kipp Parrish is being promoted to a new roll in school titled Business and Operations Manager.  In many ways, Kipp has been performing the duties associated with the new position for some time now and I am thrilled she has formally agreed to take this role permanently. Kipp’s contribution to the efficient running of the school is simply outstanding. Her pragmatic approach, attention to detail, coupled with her thoughtful and caring disposition make her perfect for this new role. I am sure you would all want to join with me in congratulating Kipp on this promotion. 

To assist Kipp with the wide range of tasks she is now responsible for, I am thrilled to welcome Leah Solomon to the school team. Leah comes from an educational background, being a qualified teacher, who now wants to serve the world of education in a more administrative role. Leah will be working very closely with Kipp assisting with the many business and operational functions of our school.  I am sure you will all get to meet her soon and will be able to welcome her to our community in person.

On the teaching side of staff, I am also very pleased to be welcoming Lauren Puckett. Lauren will be taking up the role of our new Art teacher and joins us after having recently completed her Master’s Degree in Fine Art from Edinburgh University and is currently working on her PhD. Lauren is an accomplished artist and educator and we are looking forward to her getting into the classroom with our students. 

At a time when we hear so much about staffing shortages and the great resignation, I am comforted by the fact that BISC is able to attract and retain some amazing people, drawn to our school because of our clear sense of purpose, our empowered and motivated learners and our thoughtful, international community.
