Year 12 Kyra has taken the chance to make a meaningful, positive impact on the community around her, lighting up our lives with a non-profit service project that aims to raise money by selling homemade and hand-poured candles, "Candles that Care'. Candles that Care is an initiative under Project Light Up my Life that aims to help a different organisation each quarter to make global changes one candle at a time.
Her first organisation that she aims to help is UNICEF. Through our Nord Anglia Education partnership with UNICEF, students at BIS Houston research, develop and debate solutions to challenges facing society, and Krya intends to deliver and change our world for the better with her creative initiative!
This week our business entreprenuer launches her project, 'Light Up My Life: Candles that Care', with all proceeds from the sales raising funds for UNICEF.
Our global citizen has a structured and strategic business plan to achieve her ambitious target to raise $1000 to help individuals in underprivileged countries to receive COVID relief (e.g. providing them with masks, vaccines and soap). Krya encourages us to follow her social media pages: @projectlightupmylife
To stock up on Candles that Care and support a great cause visit the Light Up Life stand at our World Childrens Day Event & Winter Fayre on Saturday 20th November.
