At BISH we inspire our students to get involved in activities that promote social good and help make the world a better place. We act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness and justice, and with respect for the dignity and rights of people everywhere. We take responsibility for our actions and their consequences. This is done in part through activities around our exclusive partnership with UNICEF and tackling the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations on social and economic development issues.
The SDG's aim to transform our world and to improve people's lives and prosperity on a healthy planet. It applies to all countries through partnerships and peace. They are mobilizing efforts to end all forms of poverty, fighting inequalities and tackling climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.
As part of our UNICEF collaboration and in conjunction with The Global Classroom, we run a Global Challenge where Nord Anglia students join hands to tackle the challenges to help make the world a better place.
We are proud of our students dedication and committment to making a difference, creating a deeper knowledge and understanding of the challenges of sustainability, our students are connected with real world issues. Some of their initiatives includes:
Year 13 Maryam completed her project Home Transformation in collaboration with Amaanah Refugee Services.
Year 13 Alex migrant photo project and recently interviewed Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer John Moore at UNICEF.
Year 12 Mary travelled to Haiti during the summer holidays to help achieve the goal of quality education.
Our Save the Bees enrichment activity helping to meet the goal of life of land.
Our Justice League of BISH has over 50 student members working towards taking action to meet the SDGs from raising awareness of initiatives such as stop using plastic bottles and straws to ensuring we switch off lights and starting school wide campaigns.
And our own WorldClassBISHTeacher Mrs Bennett has recently become a UN Accredited ClimateChangeTeacher.
Our video shows the world we, the BISH community, and the world we want in 2030. We could have this if we meet the SDGs.
Together we can make a difference.
