Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)
SCAD – 'The University for Creative Careers' based in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia – is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SCAD offers majors like Advertising, Interactive Design, User Experience (UX), Fine Art, Game Development, and Fashion Marketing and Management.
BIS Houston students in the International Baccalaureate Career-related Program (IBCP) may take courses online through SCAD during their Years 12 and 13 as dual credits. Students may earn up to 25 credit hours at SCAD and benefit from resources and individualised attention. They may also have the opportunity to fast track their first year at SCAD.

SCAD offers IBCP students sequence tracks, each of which contains 5 units. Students generally take 3 units in Year 12 and 2 units in Year 13. Each unit consists of 5 credit hours and is taken alongside the student’s high school curriculum, as dual credits.
Students choose courses based on their interests and credit requirements for the IBCP Diploma. Sequence tracks available to IBCP students are as follows:

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU)
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) has campuses at Daytona Beach, FL; Prescott, AZ; and Worldwide (online). ERAU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). They offer university programmes specialising in aviation, aeronautical engineering, and aerospace. They also offer a full range of liberal arts and science options. BIS Houston students may take courses online through the ERAU Worldwide Campus Dual Enrollment Program during their Years 12 and 13.
Baylor University
Baylor University is a private university located in Waco, TX and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC). They have over 15,000 students and offer a broad range of undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Baylor Accelerate Program
The Baylor Accelerate Program offers students the ability to take Baylor University courses to enhance their high school diploma or to jump to the front of the line with preferred admissions to Baylor University. To qualify for the program, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled full-time in Year 12 or Year 13 (equivalent to 11th or 12th grade) at BIS Houston.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Be in good financial and academic standing with the school.
- Apply and be accepted to the Accelerate Program through Mr Jonathan Cox, Head of Secondary School.
Once approved to enroll in Baylor's Accelerate Program, students will receive a unique enrollment form allowing them to register for Baylor classes. These classes must be approved by the Head of Secondary School.
Baylor Accelerate and BIS Houston Preferred Admission Policy
- Option 1: Junior Year and Rising Senior Summer:
A student may be admitted early to Baylor after fulfilling the following 12 hours:
- Completes 3 course hours in the fall of their junior year
- Completes 3 course hours in spring term of their junior year
- Completes 6 hours during the summer prior to their senior year
- Achieves a cumulative 3.0 GPA on hours earned
- Option 2: Rising Senior Summer:
A student may be admitted early to Baylor after fulfilling the following:
- Completes 9 course hours in the summer prior to their senior year
- Achieves a cumulative 3.0 GPA on hours earned
Upon completion of Option 1 or Option 2, and if a student’s school record demonstrates good academic standing throughout high school, the student will be considered to have met the academic requirements for admission. They may be admitted early to Baylor after completing an undergraduate admissions application (available each August). Admission is contingent upon a review of additional information covering behavioural and conduct issues.

IBCP students use ERAU online credits as IBCP courses. The academic team will map out the IBCP curriculum including ERAU courses. There are no charges for courses mapped out as part of the student’s IBCP. No additional costs to the family. |

Successful IBCP / dual enrollment students will have preferred application status to ERAU. |

The Transferability of Credit
Transferability of credit among institutions of higher learning is always at the discretion of the receiving institution. While the credit granted by these SACSCOC–accredited institutions is transcripted and designed to be considered for transfering, no institution can guarantee the transfer of credit at another institution.
