We have reached the final day of this strange academic year and we could not be more proud of our entire BIS community for the way everyone has come through this last year.

Parade JC Dot 2 13

This time last year we were unable to be on campus. We are so delighted that we can close this academic year together once more and look ahead to 2022 - 2023 being what we expect from a school year.

We are delighted that in recent weeks we have been able to have many of the events that had been planned throughout the year. It has been an incredibly busy end to the year but wonderful to be able to share so many experiences with students and parents.

In the last term we have had Sports Days for all students from F2 to Year 6.  We have had productions for students in Year 3 to Year 6.  We have had special assemblies for F1, F2 and F3 and Year 1 and Year 2 have enjoyed performances for their families too.   We have had Tea Time recitals for all year groups and the Year 6 Exhibition, the Year 5 Speech Competition, Year 4 Science Fair and the Year 3 Rainforest Day.

Across both Primary campuses, we have been able to host Book Day, International Week and other events within classes and year groups to give the students the best end to the year.  We look forward to having a full calendar of events next year including PTG and parent run events that makes BIS the special place we all know it to be.

Our marketing team were busy throughout many of these events and here are some links to selected photos and videos that we hope you will enjoy.

International Week

We would like to thank you all for your continued support this year.  Today, an important letter was sent to all families regarding summer arrangements and our return to school in August. Please do look out for this as it contains important information.

Today we bid farewell to staff and families leaving BIS for the final time.  While always sad to say goodbye, we hope all will stay in touch and let us know how you are doing in your new destinations.  Please take with you all of our very best wishes.

BIS Young Interpreters

Young Interpreter 2

We are very excited to announce that the latest BIS Young Interpreters have completed their training to support new arrivals next academic year. In the last few weeks, a number of students have volunteered to be chosen for this exciting buddy-system role.

Young Interpreter 2

Across Year 1 to Year 6, the BIS Young Interpreter Scheme will be launched to help welcome new students to the BIS school and community. Starting a new school can be a challenge for anyone. Our BIS Young Interpreters have been selected to help new arrivals with understanding the school routines and rules, finding their way across the campus and feeling welcomed to their new school setting.

Young Interpreter 2

The students have received training sessions that aim to develop their empathy for children who join a new international school. They were also taught soft skills to help new children who may or may not share a common language. Most importantly, the students reflected on the attributes of the aide memoire – showing care, respect and perseverance when being a kind and helpful friend to new arrivals at BIS HCMC.

We look forward to seeing these children thrive in their new roles next August and beyond.

School Photographs

A number of parents have enquired about the delivery of school photos.  Unfortunately, only one of the boxes has cleared customs, and these photos have been delivered to the children.  We will look after them over the summer and distribute them when the children return to school in August.

BIS Summer Sports

Dear Parents and BIS Sports Stars.

Unfortunately, the annual action packed BIS Summer Sports School will not go ahead this year due to construction work on each campus. However, so that all of our sports enthusiasts can stay fit, healthy and skilled over the summer break, BIS will be advertising Summer Camps in our local area. These are all run by our trusted 3rd Party External Sports Providers who you know and love from our paid CCA programme.

Please click this Summer Camps 22 link to see information regarding these weekly Summer Camps throughout the holiday period. Please note that all booking, payment and communication should be done directly with the 3rd Party External Sport Provider. BIS will take no responsibility for the camps, we are simply promoting the excellent activities that will be happening in An Phu this summer.

I hope many of our children take up the offer of these camps, learn new skills and make new friends along the way.

I hope all of our BIS families have a well deserved break over the summer and I look forward to seeing you again next year for some competitive sport in HCMC and beyond!

keep your campus healthy

Symptomatic (Any Cold/Flu/Covid Symptoms) - stay off school until symptom free.

Take a precautionary Rapid Antigen Test at home prior to return and keep the school informed.

Any concern you have at home with the health of your child, and include the Health and Safety Leads of each campus (EYIC Ms Sarah Curran sarah.curran@bisvietnam.com  and JC Mr Chris McKelvie Christopher.mckelvie@bisvietnam.com  .

It is vital, also, that you inform the office of any positive case within your family – these are called ‘household close contacts’.

If your child needs the School Nurse to administer any prescribed medication during the school day please do not put medication in the school bag but contact the School Nurse and sign the appropriate form.
