On Tuesday 10th September BIS HCMC hosted a stimulating workshop aimed at students hoping to major in Business.

The workshop was led by Associate Professor Colin Jevons, a world-leading academic who is Course Director of the Bachelor of Business Degree at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. His workshop was very well received by students and encouraged all involved to think creatively and critically, while also encouraging innovation, one of the key elements of success in business.

One Year 13 student described how the session “was really dynamic and involved lots of collaborative working in small groups. It was interesting to experience university-style teaching and get insights into the type of work we will do at university. It really focussed in on using research and critical thinking skills to solve potential problems and deliver the best result possible. The interactive side was what pulled me in and I really enjoyed it.”

Thanks to support from Mr Shine and our Business and Economics departments the workshop was hugely popular with over 40 Sixth Form students taking part. Studying Business or Economics remains one of the most popular choices for BIS students and it is great to have such a fruitful partnership with Monash, one of the world’s leading universities in this field.

Keep an eye out for more upcoming university visits in the coming weeks!
