SISAC Badminton City Championships 2019

It was finally time for our students to put their hard work from training into practice as they competed in the SISAC Badminton City Championships 2019! Let's find out how they fared...

For the SISAC Badminton tournament this year we played at AIS TT school in District 2. The format of the game was doubles (5 teams per school ranked 1-5).

The pairings could be either gender and we picked the teams based on who would play well together. The students each played 5 games against the other teams in their pool. The matches were played up to 11.

When all the matches had been played the results were worked out based on winning 3 out of 5 games against each school.

The teams were as follows:

• Anajli and GaEun
• Bon and Taisuke
• Hugo and Ricco
• Rishi and Mayura
• Huu Nam Anh and HyoWon

During each game the BIS students played very well and won the majority of the matches. After each game the BIS students made sure they shook hands with their opponents and showed great sportsmanship.

When all the scores from the matches were added up. BIS came joint first place with TAS. However, on head to head matches TAS just beat BIS by 3 games to 2. Therefore, we finished second place in this competition. An excellent result!

The students played really well and were a credit to themselves and the school. Really well done.
