This week we were able to celebrate the perseverance and the commitment of all of our LAMDA and ABRSM students in assembly.
Earlier in the year, the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examined our BIS HCMC students in Acting and Reading for Performance as well as technique, understanding and musical perception.
Following our students’ incredible set of results we took the opportunity this week to recognise and reward the hard work of all the students who took on the challenge of one of these exams last year. It was also a chance for us as a school community to give an extra congratulations to those who achieved the highest grades of Distinction in both the LAMDA and ABRSM syllabi.
One of our students Holly Van Zwanenberg discusses her experience of LAMDA; “I think it seems intimidating but once you've learned your pieces and feel confident to perform, being able to act as a person only you know and you have created is actually quite fun.”
Both the Music and Drama departments are looking forward to welcoming in the next set of exam students, whether they are returning, or new to the challenge over the year ahead.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 class of 2024, for their impressive IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) results. This incredible cohort of 155 students, our largest IGCSE class in the history of the school, have significantly surpassed UK and international averages and were awarded 97% of all grades at A*-C. An incredible 62% of all grades awarded were at A*-A.
Inspired by the Nord Anglia Education Insights article, “The Fourth Education Revolution” we wanted to share with you our own insights on AI in education.
At BIS HCMC we want to lead the way and we believe that AI can be used as a tool for creativity across the entire curriculum. Hear what our teachers and students have to say about how we can utilise AI to foster creativity and spark inspiration!
