Our students take the stage by storm at the UK Festival 2023
What an incredible honour for our students to perform at the UK Festival 2023, organised by the British Embassy in Vietnam!
The British Embassy in Vietnam organised the UK Festival 2023 on the 9th and 10th of September, marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the UK. This grand event provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the deep bond between the two countries and immerse in the authentic essence of British culture.
Our students were honoured to be invited to perform at this outstanding event. They showcased their talents on stage for a captivating 30-minute performance.
The show started with a mesmerising brass and drum performance "La Mourisque", followed by two outstanding dance performances by Year 11 BISC Dance and Dance Co teams. The Secondary choir then took the stage, delivering a heartfelt rendition of David Bowie's iconic song "Heroes”. The Primary school students also left a lasting impression with their emotional choral performance of "Somewhere We Only Know”. The grand finale featured approximately 70 BIS Hanoi students, who united their voices in harmony to perform the uplifting songs "Roar" and a captivating "3 chord mashup," eliciting cheers and applause from the enthralled audience.
Mr. Richard Vaughan, our principal, expressed his enthusiasm for attending the UK Festival, stating, "What an amazing opportunity our students at BIS Hanoi had this past weekend to showcase their talents at such a prestigious and historical event. Congratulations to all our dancers, singers and musicians as you set a wonderful tone at the opening ceremony for this unique celebration of the beautiful fusion between the UK and Vietnam”.
Our school also hosted a booth where we had the pleasure of welcoming many visitors who joined us for exciting activities. A big shout-out to all CAS students for their valuable help at the booth.
We'd like to thank all our students who enthusiastically participated in the event, our dedicated performing arts team for their hard work in preparing the performances, and everyone who supported our students and visited our booth. Your presence made this event even more special!
This week, Performing Arts students had the unique opportunity to work with a leading British military band when we welcomed the Band of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers to our school.
In July, Pham Bui Gia Khanh (Year 11) with other Year 11s, Nguyen Khanh Linh, and Hoang Thai Anh launched their first activity of Chalk Road project, a student-led project dedicated to fostering holistic and sustainable education.
