At BIS our amazing teachers and teaching assistants are committed to life-long learning. This week Jo Pearce, a Talk4Writing consultant from the UK, came over to our school and worked with our Early Years and Key Stage 1 staff with a focus on writing. During the day she focused on teaching in the classrooms and after school provided additional training. Our teachers learned lots and are inspired to share this learning with the children. When any of our team are involved in professional learning, we always look to see the positive impact it has for our students. I look forward to sharing more about our writing journey in the Primary school with you as the year progresses.
This week took place our first House Event of Term 2 led by Ms. Goodwin and the Primary House Captains. A wonderful house lunch with activities for Year 2 – 6 students saw everyone having a great time. But it is not only our House Captains who have been creating exciting times for the students. Our Primary Student Council also shared new playground equipment for break and lunch times. From bowling to balance boards, team games and new challenges everyone has been having a great time.
Finally, thank you to all parents who joined the Key Stage 2 parents’ evenings this week. Teachers and Teaching assistants thoroughly enjoyed talking to you about your children’s progress.
We look forward to seeing you at the Tet Assembly on Tuesday.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Rebecca Carroll
