On Wednesday (10 June), the school corridors were a buzz of excitement as students “moved up” to meet their new teachers!
It was a successful transition morning of all Primary students! The students were very excited, and of course, a little nervous, but the teachers had a great schedule ahead to give them a taste of life in the next year group.
In the morning, all students were getting sorted into their class next year and meet their new teachers. Each class experienced many lessons and activities in different subjects all morning.
For Year 6 students, they moved around in tutor groups, chaperoned by 2 to 3 Year 12 students for each group to support them get an insight of what Secondary student life will be like. They were even free to use the same areas as Key Stage 3 at break and lunch!
The success of Primary Transition Morning will not happen without the flexibility and enthusiasm in running these sessions of our teachers and Year 12 chaperones. Primary students are looking forward to next year and especially, good luck to our Year 6 students as they are taking the first step into Secondary school.
As the academic year whirls by, the first term in primary school draws to a close, marking the end of a whirlwind of learning, growth, and new experiences.
As we move towards the end of term, our Primary exit points are always a great celebration of learning that has taken place over previous weeks and months.
At BIS, in addition to the excellent opportunities we are providing in the classroom, we enrich the students experiences and learning by taking them on day trips.
