On Thursday, Year 2 got the chance to visit Eco Park. We have been learning about ‘Our World’ in Topic and ‘Living Things’ in Science so we wanted to observe living things in a different environment. What an ideal place it turned out to be!
First, we were treated to a ride on the eco-friendly electric buses that travel around the park. We had great fun and were able to see all the different parts of Eco Park.
We saw many different types of trees in the Park, such as bamboo and palm trees and, we saw lots of little tree houses for the birds that live around the park.
Snack and lunches were eaten in a traditional stilt house, all made out of natural materials.
To observe living things more closely, we decided to take our clipboards to a lovely pond area we had spotted so we could record detailed sketches of the things we saw. We drew lily pads, brightly coloured flowers, trees, butterflies and even a hopping toad!
Finally there was just enough time to visit Summer Park. Here some of us played a game of football while the others tackled the giant climbing frame before it was time to head back to school! What a busy day we had in Year 2- but lots of fun too!

As the academic year whirls by, the first term in primary school draws to a close, marking the end of a whirlwind of learning, growth, and new experiences.
As we move towards the end of term, our Primary exit points are always a great celebration of learning that has taken place over previous weeks and months.
At BIS, in addition to the excellent opportunities we are providing in the classroom, we enrich the students experiences and learning by taking them on day trips.
