Message from the Head of Primary
This week has certainly been a different week for all of us. For those who attended the school Iftar on Monday, I am sure you would agree that this was a very special event. It brought people together across the BIS Abu Dhabi family and we were blessed to share this time.

It allowed us to stop and connect again. It helped us to be thoughtful and thankful. Together we shared in this special spiritual moment in time. There were lovely moments where students and staff performed. The activities began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by the student Abdullah Al-Masaybeh from Year 6, which won the approval of everyone.

Liam thanked the parents and welcomed them, and then Dr. Abdul Rahim spoke about the virtues of Ramadan, the most important of which is "meeting for goodness." And how Ramadan brings together families, relatives, and friends. His words were beautifully translated by Year 9 student, Alia Sadek.

We ate together, we talked, we listened, and we smiled and laughed.  We added to our shared responsibility to continue to value and grow our community.

I love being part of the BIS Abu Dhabi family. It is home from home. You know you can rely on others, ask for advice. You feel safe and know that the family is there to help every member grow and develop.

This week we have been reminded of being part of a family again. As part of the Nord Anglia family, we have many opportunities to interact with the those across the organisation. Last term we were able to work with colleagues across the Middle East and South East Asia at our regional conference, throughout the year I have been fortunate to be learning with colleagues across the globe as part of my leadership development and our students from time to time get to share in life changing experiences like skiing, climbing Kilimanjaro, and supporting communities in Kenya with students and staff from the Nord Anglia family.

This week we have been called upon to work with our family – to use the strengths within to foster a strong partnership with our new school in the city. I am excited by this partnership as I see it has the potential to open many opportunities that will help both schools thrive in the best interests of all the students they serve.

Exciting times lie ahead for our Nord Anglia Abu Dhabi community.
