The Lunar New Year, a day celebrated by different Asian cultures, each having their own ways of celebrating this special day, as well as intricate customs and traditions surrounding the Lunar new year. The Lunar New Year has a long history, where it was celebrated by people for centuries, wishing for a prosperous new year.
As St Andrews has a diversified culture, it is important for us to celebrate the different festivals around the globe. In order to do this, our Senior Students planned different activities from Asian cultures, including red pocket lucky draw, ping pong chopstick challenge and shuttle kick challenge. We were glad to see a lot of students participating and engaging in the activities.
Other than the activities in the Atrium during Friday's breaktime, our Senior Students also hosted an Art Competition for the whole school. Below is an artwork that stood out, drawn by Henry (Year 7).
Wishing everyone a Happy Lunar New Year.
