Art: Year 11 trip to the National Art Gallery GCSE artists in Year 11 visited the National Art Gallery and took an observational walk to Pra Sumen Fort art reindeer

As part of their research for their mock GCSE art exam on the theme of Force, Year 11 artists visited the National Art Gallery near Sanam Luang.

Here they were treated to the permanent  exhibition of Thai art, as well as the spectacular “63rd National Art Exhibition”, which featured the artwork of well respected contemporary Thai artists. Students drew and photographed examples of work on display to support their contextual studies in art and to find inspiration. Gallery staff were very impressed with the level of enthusiasm our students showed, as well as their their politeness and behaviour. The art department teachers certainly felt proud to watch our students in the gallery. As well as visiting the National Art Gallery we took an ‘observational walk’ through the local area ending in photographic and drawn observations of Pra Sumen fort, the river and suspension bridge.
