Dear Parents,
Due to exams and other commitments, the dates mentioned in my article last week have had to change. Please find below the correct dates for some upcoming events.
The next meeting of the PTG will be held on Wednesday, 31 May 2017 at 08.00 a.m. in the Drama Studio. Mr. Paul will give a detailed presentation on the status of the new High School campus as well as plans for the development of the Primary Campus on Sukhumvit 71. The end of this academic year is fast-approaching and I’m sure, like me, everyone has a lot of questions regarding practical arrangements for the beginning of next year with two campuses. Please take this opportunity to have your questions answered.
The following day, Thursday, 1 June 2017, we will have another informal PTG coffee morning at 08.00 a.m. again in the Drama Studio. We will be joined by the School Counsellor as well as Mr. Roo, the Head of High School. Conversation will revolve around issues that our young teen students are facing and having to deal with and how School is interacting with our young people on these matters. While the issues up for discussion will be of most interest to parents with students in the upper years of KS2 and all of KS3, everyone is welcome and again this is aimed at being a chance for parents to meet, make contacts and share concerns, experiences and get to know each other. Please come along, have a cup of coffee and help strengthen the St. Andrews community.
The second PTG Summer Party will be held on Friday, 16 June 2017 at the Danish Loft on Sukhumvit 31. Plans are well under way and more information will follow. It promises to be another excellent evening where parents and teachers can get together to celebrate the end of another successful year.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that if you have school uniform that your children have grown out of and that is still in good condition, please get in touch with Albane (albane.mf@gmail.com). Albane manages our stock of second-hand uniform and is always happy to receive anything you have to give. Equally, if you are looking for a particular item and don’t want to buy something new this close to the holidays, please get in touch with Albane by e-mail and she can let you know what is available. Another sale of second-hand uniforms will take place in the school canteen before the end of the month. Further information will be sent to you nearer the time. All proceeds from the sale of second-hand uniform are given to the charity Baan Dek which, in turn, uses the money to purchase school uniform for the children in their care.
Thank you.
Hilary Aziz
