This week, four Senior VEX teams did incredibly well in the VEX Robotics Thai Nationals, pushing themselves to win a spot at the VEX World Championship in Dallas, Texas.
Over the past two terms, all of our Primary School students in their classes have taken turns to experience a virtual safari from our international school in Bangkok to Chiang Rai to learn from the hardworking heroes at the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation (GTAEF).
Taking place this week, we have the International Baccalaureate Visual Arts Exhibition and Music Recital as our Senior students head into the final lead-in for their IB examinations. Coming up, we have a PTG Coffee Morning on the 24th of March, and in Term 3, we invite a consultant from the Education Development Trust to work alongside our staff.
There's plenty to look forward to in the final few weeks of Term 2! These are the last weeks for our Year 11 and 13 students as they begin study leave in Term 3 to prepare for their upcoming examinations. The Primary and Foundations stages at STA embraced book character day last Friday by putting in a huge effort to create amazing costumes to share with their friends. We had so many Harry Potters running around I thought I was in Hogwarts at one point!
Book Week was undoubtedly a great experience enjoyed across the whole school. Along with book week, we have action-packed activities for everyone to support with sports fixtures galore, International Woman's Day celebrations and a date set for a PTG meeting. Learn more below...
The Friendship Zone will be a safe environment open at break times where all students can go along to relax and play with one another. The Student Council have worked hard to turn this project into reality.
Book Week has finally arrived here at STA! The students excitedly came through the gates or met us online, to see all the wonderful things planned for this week.
For the first time in some years, we are celebrating Book Week as a whole school community We have a range of exciting activities planned that will bring our Primary and High School students together in their celebration of books!
This half term, we have lots to look forward to! Picking up where the last half term left off, everyone will jump right back into their Extra-Curricular Activities before school, after school, and even on weekends. Our International Day was a fantastic way to end the first half of the term. Highlights from the day included our multicultural Flag Parade and marvelous performances in the Atrium - a wonderful way to celebrate our Great, International, St Andrews Community. Maths day was an astounding success across the whole of Primary!
Year 2 Superhero Day saw imaginative characters, superpowers, stories, and logos live in the flesh as children dressed up to celebrate their hard work.
The Toys in Year 1 appeared to have come to life, causing mischief in the classrooms.
Year 5 launched rockets on the school field, learning about the force needed to fire something into the sky.
There was a great atmosphere at the High School on Saturday morning as 26 teams competed in the VEX Robotics Nationals. It was fantastic to get back to hosting an event that we would have once viewed as a regular activity! Also, last week, some of our football teams had their first competitive fixtures, and we have updates on ATK Testing and Parent Workshops.
