WHAT IS MOODLE?

Moodle is an interactive education platform where teachers can design and keep track of each student’s learning journey. At St Andrews, our teachers make full use of the platform to create online courses and assignments for our students. Moodle encourages children to problem-solve and challenge themselves with their friends, while teaching them to use technology in a healthy and creative way.

Moodle also allows our parents to celebrate their child’s achievements. And it’s packed with useful features, from our school calendar to gradebooks.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MOODLE IN THE CLASSROOM?

Moodle’s an exciting platform for teachers and students.

It allows our teachers to truly tailor their support for each student, give valuable feedback, and create fun and engaging classwork - brought to life with videos and images. Our students often communicate with their classmates in real time too, by sending messages, asking questions and leaving comments for one another. And if they have a question for their teacher, they can send it straight through.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING MOODLE FOR PARENTS?

Moodle is a fantastic tool for parents, giving insights into their child’s progress at the push of a button.

As a parent, you’ll be able to explore our curriculum and course materials, and ensure your child is on track with their assignments and achieving their goals. The platform also cleverly identifies strengths and areas for improvement, enabling you to best support your child outside of the classroom.

High school and upper primary school students will receive their own Moodle login details during their first few days at school.

Attendance

You can check in on your child’s attendance during the year through the day-by-day summary. If your child is absent and we don't know why, we’ll initially mark this as an ‘unauthorised absence’.

We do ask you to authorise all absences - the easiest way to do this is through Moodle. Simply click the ‘authorise previous absences’ tab and choose a relevant reason for each one.
