A blog written by our students in the Marketing and Media group
Before the end of term, Secondary students at Regents spent a week exploring personal development and responsibility through the Round Square's six ‘IDEALS’ during IDEALS in Action Week through various trips and activities. This blog is about the Baan Mae Lid trip.
After a long, tiring journey, students were greeted in Baan Mae Lid school with a warm welcome. They enjoyed a traditional dinner and went on a bit of a rainy evening hike.
On the second day, Regents students woke up to the cold air of Baan Mae Lid and explored the local areas; stopping at villages to help the locals.
-Regents teachers had very positive feedback about the children at Baan Mae Lid school: "Teaching students was just a fantastic opportunity" and that "We were pretty much all tenacious and didn't give up on our challenges, the most challenging was hiking up a big hill."
Our students also expanded on abilities such as creativity, teamwork and inventiveness by creating an amazing mural of the solar system for the school! Communication skills were also developed through giving some of the students English lessons about parts of the body and directions. These probably came in handy while they were trekking together!
Throughout this week, our students have explored the Ideals of Round Square- International, Democracy, Environmental, Adventure, Leadership and Service, mainly focus on Service, and cultural appreciation and have had the pleasure of making friends and expanding on important qualities such as compassion and self-awareness.
