The boys played some lovely passing football and were a pleasure to watch as they swept the opposition away in the first two games. Unfortunately, they lost in the third match against a strong St Andrew's side, but managed to pick themselves up and take a win and a draw in the final two matches, convincingly finishing in the silver medal position.
If there was an award for sheer heart and determination there is no question that our lionesses would have won it hands down. Their effort and commitment were outstanding, competing in what was a very physical and end-to-end tournament with fantastic team spirit. For our Lionesses it all came down to the last game with four teams in contention for the silver and bronze medals. The team won their last match, but missed out on the silver medal by two points on goal difference, finishing in the bronze medal position and bring our medal total to 75 for the U13 FOBISA Games 2017.
We have tonight's Gala dinner starting at 18:45 and tomorrow the team will be allowed to sleep a little longer and get themselves packed in the morning before we leave. We are due to arrive back at school for approximately 3.00pm.
It has been a fantastic three days of sporting competition. We are all very proud of our Regents Lions and they have been wonderful ambassadors for our school. A big thank you to all the staff, coaches and parents, particularly those who made the journey up to Bangkok to support the team and who have made this trip an experience to remember for our students.
GO LIONS!
