Academic excellence
Our international curriculum pathways and personalised learning approach offer the perfect blend of challenge and support, helping to ensure that your child gets outstanding academic results.

Academic excellence

At every stage of their education – from early years through to secondary – your child will follow tailored curriculum pathways that nurture their strengths, passions, and aspirations for the future. At secondary level, this includes a choice of the academically rigorous IBDP – with the option to study for a bilingual qualification – or the NAISR High School Diploma.

In our small classes, which average just 17 students, your child will receive the one-to-one support and level of challenge they need to achieve their absolute best. They’ll also enjoy outstanding collaborations with UNICEF and MIT, and form strong relationships with our brilliant teachers, who inspire and engage every day.

Adapting learning to each student’s needs helps them to achieve fantastic results. In 2021, 30% of our students got an IBDP points score of 40 or above, placing them in the top 10% globally. All our graduates were accepted by their first-choice university, too, including TU Eindhoven, Amsterdam, and the ERASMUS programme.

As well as achieving outstanding academic success, your child will become a conscientious, independent global citizen. We’ll nurture their personal growth, encouraging them to do what they love, excel in new areas, and be ambitious.

World's best teachers

At NAISR, we only recruit the best. Our teachers are highly qualified and have extensive experience of working in the world’s best international schools. With an average teacher to student ratio of one to seven, our exceptional educators have the time and space to help each student to progress at a pace that’s right for them.

Really importantly, our teachers love working here. They stay with us for an average of seven years – many for much for longer. This creates a tightknit community where teachers are fully invested in every aspect of your child’s learning journey.

This includes nurturing their personal and social development, as well as making sure they flourish academically. We know that children learn best when they’re happy, and we’re proud that 90% of our parents say their child is very happy at our school.

To make sure every student gets the right care and attention, we have a dedicated Learning Support Programme and English as an Additional Language (EAL) team.

Exceptional learning experiences
Through outstanding learning opportunities – both in and outside the classroom – we encourage every student to reach for their dreams, showcase their talents, and try something new.

Exceptional learning experiences

Your child will enjoy exceptional experiences, clubs, and collaborations that inspire, excite, and broaden their horizons. Taking part in activities beyond the classroom helps our secondary students to stand out on their university applications, too.

From the arts and culture of Venice to the architecture and waterways of Rotterdam, our rich programme of field trips opens our students’ eyes to the world around them. We also offer a host of extra-curricular activities. Your child can get active at our football, dance or yoga clubs, learn an instrument, or make a real difference at our eco club.

In everything our students do, we encourage them to act with integrity, to be considerate, and to develop the attributes they’ll need to thrive as individuals, family members, and part of society. Our Core Values Programme (CVP), which is embedded into every student’s day, creates a strong sense of community and personal responsibility.

Of course, your child’s wellbeing is at the heart of every experience we offer. Our pastoral care team, which includes specially trained teachers, a nurse, and safeguarding experts, make sure our students are safe and cared for at school.

Our social purpose

Whether it’s taking on a leadership role, making our school more environmentally friendly, or fundraising for charities, our students make a positive difference every single day.

Our Student Council reps are role models in school, mentoring their younger peers, running guided tours, and making practical changes to how we do things. They also support local and international charities and over the last 12 months, our students have supported WWF, Pink Ribbon, and Nederland Voedselbank.

Throughout the year, our ‘kindness club’ collects and delivers books, food, and clothes to local families, connecting our students with their community and demonstrating the tangible difference their actions make. And through our Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) programme, IBDP students identify an authentic community need and work collaboratively to create positive change.

While they’re with us, your child will also learn about the challenges facing our planet – and take action to address them. One of the ways they’ll do this is through our exclusive collaboration with UNICEF. Your child will explore global issues – including the UN Rights of the Child and the Sustainable Development Goals – through debates, themed projects, and the Model United Nations programme.
