International College Spain was founded in 1980 by entrepreneur and philanthropist, Manouchehr Farhangi.
We moved to our current site, located in the exclusive La Moraleja community just north of Madrid’s city centre, in 1983. We’ve since established ourselves as the private school of choice for families looking for a progressive international education.
From day one, our goal has been to support the individual needs, talents, and ambitions of every child. We also strive for excellence in everything we do. We started teaching the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in 1980, becoming only the 13th school in the world to offer the qualification. We subsequently added the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in 1995 and Primary Years Programme (PYP) in 1999.
Unique in Madrid, our all-through IB curriculum provides an outstanding global education for 3 to 18-year-olds, which nurtures every aspect of their development.
In 2014, we joined the Nord Anglia Education family of premium schools. This has brought many benefits, from access to world-leading education technology and award-winning teacher training programmes, to exclusive collaborations with The Juilliard School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and UNICEF.
Today, our school is home to approximately 1,000 students. We’re proud to be a caring, truly international community, with children, families, and staff hailing from more than 70 countries worldwide.
