ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

OUR ADMISSIONS AND APPLICATION PROCESS

BSN is proud to be an all-inclusive school. This means we’re open to any student who will benefit from our outstanding teaching and learning.

After making an initial enquiry, you’ll either visit us in person or take a virtual discovery tour. You’ll then fill in an online application form. The final step is to invite your child to an assessment.

Every family’s application process is different, so we’d encourage you to get in touch with our admissions team to find out how it’ll work for you. They can answer any questions about our entry requirements and talk you through each stage.

There are no dates and deadlines to work to – we’ll fit around your needs. We also understand that plans and schedules can change during the application process. Don’t worry, we’ll work hard to accommodate your needs.

Applications
You can complete our simple online application at any time during the year. We’ll let you know as soon as we’ve received your form.

Documents
Restrictions in China mean we can only accept students with foreign passports. This includes Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan. When you apply, we need various documents from both you and your child, including visas. Our admissions team will give you more details.

Assessments
BSN is primarily a non-selective school, but we do assess every child who joins us in Year 4 or above. We do this to make sure our school is right for them.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Our fantastic EAL teachers support students with limited, little, or no English. They organise one-to-one or small group sessions, as well as offering help in lessons. We’ve found immersing your child in an English-speaking community quickly helps them to become fluent speakers.

Special educational needs (SEN)
Our dedicated SEN coordinators work closely with teachers to support students who need extra help. This includes putting plans in place, keeping an eye on progress, and working closely with families. Please get in touch with us to talk about how we can support your child.
